My Favorite Brunch Spots in DC

What to know the best brunch spots in DC? I've been living in DC for over 5+ years, I know the best spots! Be warned, these spots draw large crowds so reservations are suggested.

801 Restaurant and Bar

Love the variety of there brunch menu, ranging from Avocado Toast to Surfer’s Breakfast Tacos (my favorite dish here). The atmosphere is very vibrant and warm. Did I mention they offer build your own bottomless mimosas for only $15! Before you stop by for brunch make sure you have a reservation, or else it’ll be at least an hour wait.

Shaw’s Tavern

I’ve tried everything on the menu and tbh it’s all amazing. The staff is really friendly plus the restaurant is big so seating isn’t as hard to find. A very local spot in the Shaw area but definitely a gem.

Union Market

Union Market has everything. You’ll likely run into a few people you know, and hopefully there will be good weather so you can eat at one of the picnic tables outside. The hardest part is choosing where to go and what to order! Options include buttery biscuits, grilled cheese with egg on top (my favorite dish), bread pudding, seafood and more.

Founding Farmers

Simple but chic. The brunch menu offers classic brunch options, all delish! Definitely a sophisticated vibe. Reservations are a MUST for this classic DC brunch spot!

Open City

Open City gives me fairytale vibes! It very simple and open, a really calm setting. They have bottomless mimosas and great food. There menu is huge, definitely a nice spot to go for a different vibe then typical DC style restaurants.
