How To Prepare Sea Moss
Ingredients:
12 oz Glass Jar
2c. Dried Irish Moss
3- 4c. Water Depending on the Amount of Sea Moss
1 Lime
Rinse dried Moss in water thoroughly, then clean all debris, salt, sand etc from moss. Repeat this step 3 times until moss is clean and debris free.
Place moss in medium to large bowl, set moss aside. In a sauce pan boil 3-4 cups water (make sure you have enough water to cover all of the sea moss you plan to use) when water comes to boil turn off and then pour hot water over moss and let sit for 2 - 4 hours. Keep extra water for later.
After the time has completed take moss and put in large blending cup Nutri-bullet/Ninja, etc.
Squeeze in the lime and blend 1-2 minutes the moss will become a runny gel like consistency if the moss is to stiff add some additional water from the water that you have set aside until moss is your desired consistency. Remember the moss will stiffen as it cools during refrigeration.
Keep refrigerated will last for 3 - 4 weeks.
I make smoothies with the Sea Moss Gel. I suggest using only 1 tablespoon of Sea Moss in your smoothie. Too much Sea Moss will ruin the taste. I typically just make a smoothie with whatever fruit I have laying around, vanilla almond milk, and ice! Enjoy-xoxo
Of course there are many benefits of adding Sea Moss to your daily routine. It really is a hidden gem.
